Stocking Filler Sundays- Hotel Christmas?

Welcome to blogmas Day 13;

So I live in the city where there are lots of great hotels all lit up for Christmas.  I keep coming across brochures for Christmas breaks in hotels.  At first I found it kind of strange because Christmas is a real family oriented time so I couldn’t understand why anyone would want to have Christmas dinner in an impersonal setting.  But the more I think about it the more intrigued I become.

So here are my reasons to spend Christmas away from home at least once;

Different cultures:  I know some people will just go across the country and think it ridiculously far from home but if you’re somewhat adventurous why not try an overseas Christmas?  The food is different, the traditions are different and it’s guaranteed to be a once in a life-time experience.  It’s bound to start a conversation as well and give you the opportunity to meet new people.  People are fascinated by other cultures and traditions.

Stress-free dinner: You can’t say this isn’t your first thought when you hear Christmas dinner in a hotel.  No sooner have you sat down to look at your gifts and the turkey needs basting, your four types of potatoes are calling and the water for your puddings boiling dry.  Imagine sitting in front of an open fire in comfy chairs in the hotel lounge with your most festive Christmas jumper on trying out your new nail art kit… Heaven.

Side note:I feel for the staff who work Christmas, I really do.

Appreciate the next Christmas:  I’m a home bird.  I love the idea of an adventurous Christmas but I’m a much more traditional girl.  Being away from home can only make you appreciate spending the following year with you nearest and dearest.

But it doesn’t have to be a situation where you either miss Christmas with the family or stay at home with them.  If you’re in the position why not get the whole family to go?  Sure, it’s basically you’re typical stressful Christmas only in a 30 degree heat but that in itself would be an experience 😛
